Strength Cycle

We are starting a front squat strength cycle!!! Please record you 1RM that you will find Monday. If you are not able to come Monday please do your best to establish one on your own or during session 2 this week.  Front squats are good for overall strength as well as the foundation for improving your clean. Look forward to seeing you guys work through this cycle and build your strength!

4th of July

We will be hosting a 4th of July workout! This will not be an “official” class but the majority of our coaches will be present and working out with you. The workout will be announced the day of and we will be happy to help figure out scaling options and go over form before beginning.  It will be a team workout so come in your July 4th best and be ready to have some fun!

Resume as Usual

Hello!!! We are so happy to be back in the swing of things. I posted on our members only FB page yesterday that gyms no longer have to limit class sizes to 50 anymore! So there is no more signing up required for classes and there is not a 10 person limit. There are still social distancing and cleaning requirements so please remain on top of that. Thank you all for being amazing. We are glad you allow us to be a part of your life!

Memorial Day Murph

Remember Monday we will be participating in “Murph” to remember and honor all of the heroes who gave their lives for our freedom! Please arrive 15 minutes before your heat time to warm-up. (This includes the 8am heat! A coach will be there by 7:45 to get you started.) We have some different options if you are not at the level to complete a full Murph at this time. Please talk to your coach to get the appropriate option for you.

We do have some times available still.  If you want to sign up you can stop by the gym and put your name in the class on the list taped to the whiteboard, shoot us a message on our Members Only or Community FB page, or call the front desk.

8am – full

9am – 1 available

10am – 5 available

11am – 5 available

Bring water and be ready to sweat!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone!!!! We have missed you guys a ton and are excited to get rolling again. We are taking every step to keep you all safe but do need help. Please wash hands frequently, clean your equipment after use, and practice social distancing. If you have any questions please contact the front desk or ask one of your coaches. Let’s go!!!

A Heartfelt Thank You

 

Okay folks, this will be my last blog post on the CrossFit CHF website, and I wanted to end it with a heartfelt thank you.

Let’s see, where to start?  Well, I want to thank our Lord Jesus Christ for His mercy and saving grace.  Without Him, this journey would have never been possible.

I want to thank my good friend Joe Black and his group for offering me a job that has been the best one of my working life.  I can truthfully say that I have had a dream job!  I have spent 1/6 th of my life working with Joe, who has always had my back.

I want to thank TLC for allowing me to pursue a career in fitness that has given me the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the world.  She alone can attest to the ups and downs that have transpired along this journey.  She has shared me on every holiday and never complained about me being gone or not getting home on time for her home cooked meals.  Yep, she’s a keeper for sure and certain.

I want to thank the staff at Cherokee Fitness for their loyalty and dedication.  Without you guys, this operation would not work.  I know many of you came to work when ill and not feeling up to it and that will not be forgotten.  I appreciate the fact that you always had my best interest at heart and always tried to fulfill my requests.  You guys are the best ever!

I want to thank the folks at BMH for providing uswith a paycheck for the last 11 years.  I have had the opportunity to work with some interesting people that can’t be forgotten.  Without the financial support of BMH, who knows what I would have had to do for an income.

I want to thank each and every person that has ever darkened the door at Cherokee Fitness. I want to thank those who have stuck with us and supported us for the past 13 years.  You all have impacted my life beyond measure.  I have had the opportunity to share moments in your lives that will be remembered forever. I have seen young people grow into adults.  I have seen some marry.  I have seen many of you have children, (some more than others) ;).  I have seen some divorce and with some, I have experienced the tragedy of death.  I guess you could say we have experienced the complete cycle of life at Cherokee Fitness together.

I want to thank you for trusting me with your secrets.  I want to thank you for allowing me to watch you grow in confidence and change in ways that you never thought possible.  I want to thank you for allowing me to share moments in your lives that are absolutely amazing!

Last but not least, I want to thank you for believing in me as your coach and being part of our family.

Oh, I almost forgot!  I want to thank you for being my favorite. (You know who you are) 😉
